1 Swim at Stobreč Beach
The main beach in Stobreč is a beautiful pebble beach with crystal-clear Adriatic water. Located right in the town center, it's perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and watching spectacular sunsets over Brač Island. The beach is just 10 meters from our apartments!
Why it's great: Clean water, shallow entry (good for kids), free access, and less crowded than Split beaches.
2 Explore Ancient Ruins
Stobreč was founded as the Greek colony Epetium around 500 BC, later becoming a Roman settlement. You can still see remains of ancient walls, a Roman aqueduct, and the Church of St. Peter and Moses from the 6th century.
Location: Walk through the old town center, especially around the church area.
3 Walk the Coastal Promenade
Take a leisurely stroll along the seafront promenade that connects Stobreč to Split. Perfect for morning walks, evening romantic walks, or cycling. The path offers beautiful sea views and passes several small beaches.
Distance: About 6 km to Split's Žnjan beach, mostly flat and scenic.
4 Experience the "Glow" Night Kayaking
One of Stobreč's most unique attractions is the Illuminated Evening Guided Kayaking Tour. You paddle in transparent kayaks fitted with LED lights through the calm waters of the Žrnovnica River and out to sea. Seeing the seabed glowing beneath you under a starry sky is a truly magical experience.
Perfect for: Couples, adventure seekers, and anyone looking for a unique evening activity. Tours usually depart at sunset and last about 2-3 hours.
5 Play Barefoot Football on the Sand
At Stobreč's center in a place called Ponadraga, you'll find a unique sand terrain where locals gather to play barefoot football. Join in with the friendly locals for a game or just watch and soak up the authentic community atmosphere. It's a fun way to meet people and experience local life.
Tip: Games are most common in the late afternoon and early evening. Don't be shy - locals are welcoming and happy to have visitors join!
6 Enjoy Morning Coffee with Locals
Start your day the Dalmatian way - take an early morning coffee at one of Stobreč's many local cafés along the waterfront. Watch the sunrise, chat with friendly locals, and embrace the slow Mediterranean morning ritual. This is where you'll experience authentic "fjaka" - the art of savoring the moment.
Local favorite: Order a "kava" (espresso) or cappuccino and enjoy it slowly while watching the sea and fishing boats.
7 Active Vacation - Sports Facilities
For those who want to stay active during their vacation, Stobreč offers excellent sports facilities:
- Tennis courts: Well-maintained courts available for visitors
- Golf: Nearby golf course for golf enthusiasts
- Beach volleyball: Courts on the beach for pickup games
- Swimming: Crystal-clear waters perfect for daily swims and water sports
Mix relaxation with activity and keep your vacation healthy and energizing!
8 Visit the Church of St. Lawrence
Located in the heart of the village, this small, historic church is a symbol of Stobreč. Dating back centuries, it's a peaceful spot to admire local architecture and learn about the religious history of the peninsula. The church represents the spiritual heart of this ancient settlement.
History note: The church stands as a testament to Stobreč's long Christian heritage and has been a gathering place for the community for generations.
9 Sunrise & Sunset Watching
Stobreč offers stunning sunrises over the mountains and spectacular sunsets over the Adriatic and Brač Island. The beach in front of our apartments is one of the best spots.
Tip: Bring your camera and a bottle of local wine for sunset!
10 Relax and Enjoy "Fjaka"
"Fjaka" is a Dalmatian concept - the art of doing nothing and enjoying the moment. Sit at a beachside cafe, read a book under an umbrella, swim when you feel like it, and embrace the Mediterranean pace of life.
This is what Stobreč vacation is all about!
